Module 11

  Are there aspects of our present world that seem to be undergoing “revolutionary” changes of world view? 

Yes, the age of artificial intelligence is our new boundary that will require another paradigm shift to resolve and evolve to the next level of scientific knowledge. The cohabitation of the history of man (in the flesh) combined with the data computing power of a computer.  


Paradigm shifts? 

Humans have reached a summit of what we are able to do alone. This alone means that with our own ingenuity and resources, our capacity to solve the unknown answers can no longer be achieved. Another solution is required for us to continue down this path of evolution and unlocking the next stage of unknowns to help the human race continue to evolve. A merger of flesh and knowledge is required. The combination of all of human history and knowledge will be at ready for artificial intelligence to archive and retrieve possible solutions while calculating new and unique solutions never dreamt of.



1) Which element will be your focus: freedom, equality, progress, democracy, or science?


Science will be my focus for the term paper. Addressing the paradigm shift; when it happened, How it grew and how it changed things for the future.

 

2) Identify three specific historical examples that demonstrate the importance of this element in the context of the Modern American world view. For example, historical events from the American civil rights movement would demonstrate the importance of equality as a component of the Modern American world view. 

 

Spinning Jenny - A cotton mill machine that will increase and refine cotton at a much faster pace with a round of the clock operation exceeding what hand-picked and processing ore product than what cotton workers could ever achieve.


Steam Engine - Manufacturing has now gone from hand-driven to machined work to increase productivity and improve our way of life with transportation and newly refined products.


Electricity - Harnessing the power of lightning into a resource that is abundant and able to turn night into light, able to light warehouses to work around the clock, to power machinery.



3) Identify at least one way in which this element of the Modern American world view is being challenged in the 21stcentury. For example, current events involving climate denialism would demonstrate a challenge to science as a component of the Modern American world view.



Electricity is no longer limited to manufacturing or even powering some green-machinery or even home usage, but it will potentially now power ALL vehicles and items using any type of power at all. Tesla is currently the king of harnessing solar power into electricity. Many more companies are seeing the profitability of such a company surpassing the value of all manufactured automobile corporations in America combined warrants the respect it deserves. Many more companies are about to follow and change our way of life forever.

Module 5

   What is Enlightenment? Is what I like to call the age of self-actualization is how I would like to define it, which is the period trailing the Renaissance into the Middle Ages.      Having viewed and studied history throughout the time periods, this was time for a revolution.
